This Privacy Policy explains how personal information submitted through alvarezultra.com is collected, reviewed, transferred and used.
The website is intended principally for business and professional users seeking information about industrial tissue converting machinery, production lines, engineering, spare parts and related services.
1. Who processes your information?
Two companies may process a website enquiry at different stages.

Pleymax Studios S.L. operates and administers the EU-based website infrastructure used to receive Alvarez ULTRA website enquiries.

When a legitimate enquiry is forwarded to Alvarez ULTRA, Alvarez ULTRA acts as a separate controller for the subsequent handling of the enquiry, including sales, engineering assessment, quotations, project follow-up, spare-parts or service support and any resulting customer relationship.
Pleymax and Alvarez ULTRA therefore act as controllers for different stages of the processing described above.
2. Information collected through the website
When you submit a contact form, Request for Quote, spare-parts request or other business enquiry, the information collected may include:
- your name;
- company name;
- business email address;
- telephone number, if provided;
- country or region;
- the machine, production line or page connected with your enquiry;
- your message;
- project timing or purchasing requirements; and
- technical information you choose to provide, such as the product to be produced, parent-roll dimensions, finished-product dimensions, target speed or output, ply, core requirements, embossing, lamination, printing, packaging, automation level and existing equipment.
If you use Build Your ULTRA Line, the configuration you create may be included with the enquiry so that the request can be evaluated accurately.
The website may also record limited technical information needed for security and reliable operation, such as submission time, originating page, IP address and browser/user-agent information.
3. What happens when you submit an enquiry?
Your submission is first received on EU-based infrastructure administered by Pleymax Studios S.L.
Pleymax reviews the submission to:
- verify that it is not obvious spam, abuse or a malicious submission;
- determine whether it appears to be a genuine business enquiry;
- understand the general subject of the request; and
- route a relevant enquiry to the appropriate Alvarez ULTRA representative.
This review is performed for website security and business-routing purposes. We do not use automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
If a submission is clearly spam or abusive, it may be rejected and not forwarded to Alvarez ULTRA.
If the submission is a genuine or potentially relevant business enquiry, the information needed to respond to it is forwarded to Alvarez ULTRA for commercial or engineering handling.
4. Why we process the information
Pleymax Studios S.L.
Pleymax uses website-enquiry information to:
- operate the enquiry system;
- receive submissions securely;
- prevent spam and abuse;
- identify genuine business requests;
- determine the appropriate destination for the request; and
- forward relevant enquiries to Alvarez ULTRA.
For processing subject to the GDPR, the legal basis is Pleymax's legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR in operating a secure and reliable business website and ensuring that genuine enquiries reach the intended company while spam and abuse are filtered.
Alvarez ULTRA
Alvarez ULTRA uses information forwarded to it to:
- respond to the enquiry;
- evaluate machinery and production requirements;
- prepare quotations and technical proposals;
- communicate with the prospective customer;
- provide engineering, commercial, service or spare-parts support; and
- manage any resulting business or customer relationship.
For ordinary B2B enquiries, processing is based on the legitimate interests involved in responding to genuine commercial enquiries and developing business relationships.
Where processing is objectively necessary to take steps at the request of the individual before entering into a contract with that individual, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR may also apply.
5. International transfer to Alvarez ULTRA
Alvarez ULTRA is established in Hong Kong.
Where Pleymax forwards personal data from the European Economic Area to Alvarez ULTRA in Hong Kong, this constitutes an international transfer of personal data.
Hong Kong is not currently covered by a European Commission adequacy decision.
The transfer is therefore protected by the European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses for international transfers of personal data, Module 1 — Controller to Controller, adopted under Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/914 and incorporated into the written agreement between:
- Pleymax Studios S.L., as data exporter; and
- ALVAREZ ULTRA TISSUE MACHINERY ENGINEERING COMPANY LIMITED, as data importer.
The parties apply the contractual, technical and organizational safeguards required by that arrangement.
You may request information about the safeguards applicable to a transfer, or a copy of the relevant Standard Contractual Clauses subject to any permitted redactions necessary to protect confidential or commercial information, by contacting info@pleymax.com or info@alvarezultra.com.
6. Who else may receive the information?
Personal information is made available only where needed for the purposes described in this policy.
Depending on the enquiry, recipients may include:
- authorized Pleymax personnel responsible for website intake and routing;
- authorized Alvarez ULTRA sales, engineering, service and administrative personnel;
- website hosting, infrastructure and email service providers used to operate the system; and
- professional or technical service providers where necessary for the enquiry or where required by law.
Service providers are required to handle information only for the relevant service and subject to applicable confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
We do not sell website-enquiry personal data to advertisers or data brokers.
7. Retention
We apply different retention periods to different stages of the process.
Spam or rejected submissions
Submissions identified as obvious spam, abuse or malicious traffic are deleted as soon as reasonably practicable. Limited security information may be retained for up to 30 days where needed to detect or investigate repeated abuse.
EU website intake and routing records
Pleymax normally retains copies of genuine website submissions and associated routing records only for the period necessary to confirm successful handling, normally no longer than 90 days after forwarding, unless longer retention is necessary to resolve a technical, security or delivery issue or to comply with a legal obligation.
Alvarez ULTRA sales and project enquiries
Once an enquiry is forwarded to Alvarez ULTRA, Alvarez ULTRA may retain the business enquiry and related correspondence for up to 36 months after the last substantive interaction with the prospective customer.
A longer period may apply where the information becomes part of an active customer relationship, contract, quotation, warranty, service matter, legal obligation or legal claim.
Anti-spam rate limiting
Where the website uses a one-way hash derived from an IP address for rate limiting, the value is retained only temporarily and is designed to expire after approximately one hour.
8. Marketing communications
Marketing is separate from an enquiry.
If you tick the optional marketing box, you agree to receive occasional Alvarez ULTRA product, technology and event updates by email.
The legal basis for that marketing is your consent. The box is optional and is not pre-selected.
You may withdraw consent at any time by using the unsubscribe option in the communication or by writing to info@alvarezultra.com.
Withdrawing marketing consent does not affect an enquiry, quotation, service request or customer relationship.
A minimal suppression record may be retained after an unsubscribe so that the request can continue to be respected.
9. Privacy acknowledgement on forms
The required Privacy Policy checkbox on website forms is not consent to process your enquiry.
It records that this Privacy Policy has been presented to you and that you understand the website-enquiry process described above.
10. Analytics
The website uses Plausible Analytics for aggregate website statistics.
Plausible is configured as privacy-focused, cookieless analytics. It does not use advertising cookies or persistent cross-site identifiers and is not used by Alvarez ULTRA or Pleymax to create advertising profiles of website visitors.
Analytics may be used to understand general website usage and measure actions such as completed quote requests.
11. YouTube and embedded video
Some videos are provided using YouTube's privacy-enhanced embedding mode.
The website is designed so that the YouTube player is not loaded until you actively choose to play a video.
Before the player loads, a notice informs you that playback will connect your browser to YouTube.
Once you choose to play a video, Google/YouTube may receive technical information such as your IP address and device/browser information and may use cookies or similar browser storage in accordance with Google's own policies.
Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
12. Cookies and similar storage
Alvarez ULTRA and Pleymax do not use the website to set advertising or behavioral-tracking cookies.
Plausible is configured without cookies.
YouTube content is activated only after you choose to load the player.
If the website is later changed to use non-essential cookies or similar storage before user action, the privacy information and consent mechanism will be reviewed and updated before that technology is enabled.
13. Your rights
Where the GDPR applies, you may have the right to:
- obtain access to your personal data;
- request correction of inaccurate data;
- request deletion where the legal requirements are met;
- request restriction of processing;
- receive portable data where the right applies;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests; and
- withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
